The last "good" war was WWII. Everything since has been 1st world countries bombing the **** out of weaker and poorer nations for dubious reasons.

There were no good wars.

WWII came about because of what the British and French did to the Germans at the end of WWI.

Without the issue of the Versailles treaty - the NSDAP would NEVER have come to power.

In the Russian Civil War - the Whites outnumbered the Reds - but the Reds had the rail lines coming out of Moscow and could shuttle their troops from one front to the next, concentrating and defeating the White armies closing in on them one at a time.

Had the democracies of this world - put the communists down in Russia - there would have been no communists.

WWII on the Eastern Front was a war between two evil ideologies - nothing good was going to come out of that no matter who won.

What started WWII was when Germany invaded Poland. What gets glossed over - is how the communists (with their non-aggression pact with Germany) gobbled up the other half.

The Allied democracies - and the communists - defeated the Axis powers - but that left the other evil, the one we'd allied ourselves to - still to be defeated.

What the democracies did do - was adopt a policy of containment - knowing that communism was such an unworkable system that it would eventually collapse of it's own weight - and after 50 years and numerous, as they called them, Brush Fire Wars scattered across the globe it did. Of course - that was Soviet Communism - what's going to happen with the Chinese version we've yet to see. Some good people in China tried to do something about that at Tienanmen Square - and were crushed for their trouble - but then you still had 1st generation revolutionaries in power then. It was the great and great-great grandchildren of the Soviet Revolutionaries that put their forefathers failed vision in the grave.



Someone once said that evil existed in the world because good people allowed it to.

This is the case.

Good people are reluctant to force their will on others - but in their reluctance - they allow evil to go on.



And ... when evil does something bad enough ... a few brave young men and women get sent in to do what should have been done long ago - and with much greater numbers.

What good exists in this world - exists because of the brave young men and women who died to preserve it. Those who consider themselves pacifists - are the hand maidens of evil - for they act to protect the evil in this world from those who would undo it.

Of course ... simple, cowardice, laziness and cheapness are as much to blame as those silly people saying something as mind bogglingly stupid as "give peace a chance". The only thing that gives "peace" a chance - is the people with guns putting their flesh and blood on the line against the evil in this world.
